Why Does a Miscarriage Happen?

Why does a spontaneous abortion occur?  It can be avoided. What to do if it happens? What is a spontaneous abortion? It is the involuntary loss of a pregnancy before 20 weeks of gestation. Types of spontaneous abortion: Complete: all pregnancy tissue has been expelled from the body correctly. Incomplete: tissue that was not expelled on its own still remains in the body.  The embryo died without the woman realizing it. Threatened: when bleeding and contractions appear that point to a possible spontaneous abortion.
